I’m telling you, there was *some* kind of plan early on to put Barry and Caitlin together! All these moments and interactions between them from season one weren’t just put in there by accident. I don’t know whether it was the original plan and then the producers caved to the pressure from the rabid WestAllen fans to keep it “comic book accurate”, or the producers weren’t paying enough attention to how well these two were written and slammed the breaks on it in a panic. Either way, the chemistry between Grant and Danielle was amazing and SnowBarry had a so much more interesting dynamic and storytelling potential than WestAllen ever did. Barry and Caitlin just work. That’s the bottom line. Such a waste…… 😔

Ok after seeing this, I feel like stomping my feet. I always liked Snowbarry even though it was completely in my imagination. They could be such a nerdy Power Couple.

I do have to wonder if there was a plan for Barry and Caitlin to get together at eventually, or if SnowBarry kinda took on a life of it’s own. Maybe the producers weren’t paying enough attention to how well this pairing was written and the amazing on-screen chemistry they shared and slammed the breaks on it in a panic. The writers certainly made me believe in Barry and Caitlin’s relationship during season one, so I have to imagine that even if there wasn’t a solid plan in place for these two, there sure was at least intent behind how this pairing was written. Ironically, I was a WestAllen fan initially when show first premiered, though only in the sense that I was a sucker (and still am) for the "childhood best friends who turn into something more” trope. After episode 3 I had almost completely changed my my mind on WestAllen and by episode 7, I had fully converted to SnowBarry! Whatever the reason that SnowBarry never become official, I feel it was a real missed opportunity. Being a live action adaption of a DC comic character, The Flash needn’t (and shouldn’t) have been beholden to some nebulous comicbook “canon” if it came at the expense of good storytelling. Most unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened. SnowBarry, which was a core part of that good storytelling, was it’s biggest casualty.

Danielle seems like a really sweet person! She handled all of the questions with grace and professionalism and some of her reactions were really cute too!
